It seems to have been quite an eventful day in the world of pro wrestling with several WWE and AEW stars making the news, including Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens.

Roman Reigns Misses Out On PWI 500

It seems that Roman Reigns could be the biggest superstar in the world but Pro Wrestling Illustrated will not be changing their rule books for the Tribal Chief. This year the editors at PWI have not acknowledged the Tribal Chief and have booted him out of the coveted PWI500 list.

One of the basic criteria for being on the list is that a singles star will have to have wrestled at least 10 singles matches in the year. However, Reigns only wrestled in seven matches during the consideration period set by PWI.

Roman Reigns did not make the list for this year’s PWI 500 due to not meeting a criteria of having more than 10 singles matches in the activity period.

Activity time period is August 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026.

Reigns is arguably the biggest superstar in the world and this will definitely come as a shocker to him. Not that he would ever care about the PWI or anything and would rather wipe his tears with all the money he has laying around.

MJF Wins Big

MJF on the other hand has won big. The star was named the number one wrestler in the world by PWI and has been boasting about it on social media. MJF is one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation at this point and dominates every field in terms of his promo abilities and in-ring skills.

It was kind of a given that at some point Maxwell Jacob Friedman would be flying through the stars en route to greatness and that moment has come sooner rather than later.

WWE Angry With Kevin Owens

It seems that WWE is not too angry with Kevin Owens after the botched ending to the Undisputed Title Match on SmackDown last week. The ending to the world title match against Sami Zayn was butchered after KO kicked out of the title shot to the head from CM Punk.

Several people backstage were reportedly upset with how the Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn match at SmackDown ended, with the finish described as “absolutely blundered.”

The original plan was for CM Punk to hit Owens with the belt, allowing Zayn to pin him and end the match.

The referee did not know what to do and did not make the full count but signed for the bell. Overall, WrestleVotes is now reporting that many officials backstage in WWE were very unhappy after the botched ending to the match. The report suggested that the ending was “absolutely blundered” and that it should have been done better.

Worlds Collide Is A Disaster

It seems that WWE Worlds Collide will not be airing live despite the heavy promotion that was done for the show. According to JBL who is one of the English commentators in AAA, the legend has not yet been called to announce for the show.

He states that there was a call made about him travelling to Chicago for the show but since then all talks have gone silent with WWE likely not airing the show and commentary to be inserted in post production.
