Triple H hates pulling the trigger on WWE storylines at the opportune moment and it’s has started to cost him big time.
At this point you have to admit that Triple H is kind of averse to pulling the trigger on some of his major storylines. The Judgment Day stuff has been going on for ages with The Game unwilling to pull the trigger on a Roxanne Perez face turn. He was also kind of shy to turn Bron Breakker face when the time was right and Breakker was enjoying a lot of momentum. The same can be said for an LA Knight main event run which many feel has come at a time which is a bit too little too late.

Now, he has ruined another great storyline with his cautious and unwilling footsteps.
Triple H Has Ruined The Cody Rhodes And Randy Orton Storyline At WWE SNME
The Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton storyline has seen a lot of ups and downs ever since it came to fruition on the Road to WrestleMania. First WWE was heavily criticised for having the temerity to include Pat McAfee in a feud that was strictly supposed to be about Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton and the two decades of history they share with each other. Instead it became a battle of celebrities and just useless promo battles that had nothing to do with the actual feud.
Then came the big turning point after Pat McAfee decided to never return to the company following WrestleMania, Orton punt-kicked Rhodes, and then disappeared from the scene for months. The Viper returned at SummerSlam and took out Rhodes once again costing him the WWE Title match against CM Punk.
The feud restarted and this time all the other elements missing from the first feud seemed to be back. Orton played the part of the despicable heel well, while Rhodes tried to keep his composure and his wits about himself as the babyface.
However, throughout the brawls and the personal jabs, Rhodes showed signs of his heelish, vicious, and vile character breaking out from within him. He restrained himself from hitting out at Orton when he talked about his mother and wife while taking some serious shots at Bob Orton and calling him a “screw up.”
During the match at SNME, it seems Rhodes lost his composure for a great while. He busted open Randy Orton, took out the ref and then unleashed hell on the star. But then he shows restraint, restraint that he has shown and then moved back on several times in a repetitive loop that is never-ending.
Rhodes tried hard but couldn’t land the punt kick and ultimately it cost him the match.
Throughout the match it was apparent that both men were teasing a double turn and it could have been perfect. Rhodes hits the punt, Randy suffers, and ultimately The American Nightmare becomes the very person he promised never to be. All this while, a begging and merciful Orton could be seen reeling on the ground and crying, begging Rhodes to forgive him and let him go.

Triple H Is Too Afraid To Pull The Trigger
It seems that despite the opportunity presenting itself and being served on a plate, Triple H was once again afraid to pull the trigger on a Cody Rhodes heel turn. Slow burn is a thing Triple H loves, but more often than not, the storytelling technique fails for him.
He delays things for months before ultimately everybody stops caring about them. The Cody Rhodes heel turn would be a great step for the star’s character development and how everything around him has just changed him, but instead of striking while the iron is hot, The Game is playing the patient game, drawing criticism and ruining a feud that could have just become epic.
One thing that differentiates great storytelling from mediocre ones is timing. It’s they to understand when a storyteller should take that extra step or when to save it.
Unfortunately for WWE and Triple H, it’s that aspect that has been missing for most of the time now.
