WWE Has Given Up On Dominik Mysterio

The downfall of WWE star Dominik Mysterio is astonishing and the company has clearly fumbled him.

Dominik Mysterio was once considered one of the most promising stars on WWE TV with his stocks rising every week as a heel. There was one point in his career in the last year when he was booed so loudly that he could barely get one word out. Most heels who are his contemporaries could only dream of such reception and the star was doing exceptionally well to maintain that momentum.

If you happen to remember Mysterio was the last opponent for the legendary John Cena, then you have great memory, but for those of you who have completely forgotten this face, you surely cannot be blamed.

At Survivor Series last year Dom defeated John Cena to win the Intercontinental Title in the 17-time World Champion’s last-ever PLE but since then Mysterio has barely done anything. He has gone to AAA where he won the AAA Mega Championship.

After that, Mysterio was also in action at SummerSlam but in one of the worst feuds and matches in the PLE’s history. The star was part of a lengthy feud with Danhausen of all people where he was after the 100,000 dollars that he lost in a bet.

Between the curses, the minihausens, the meaningless shenanigans, and the awful booking, you would think at least Dom would win the match, but Liv Morgan’s on-screen boyfriend lost the bout. And guess what? This wasn’t the first time Dom has lost this year. He has lost way more times than you can imagine.

Dominik Mysterio Has Only Won Three WWE Matches In 2026

In an abysmal record that has come to the fore, Mysterio has won only three matches this year. For someone who was deemed one of the biggest heels in the promotion and a member of one of the most dominant factions in the company, goes to show how much his stocks have fallen.

Mysterio may not be the biggest guy on the roster. He is neither Oba Femi, nor Bron Breakker, but he is certainly more charismatic and better on the mic. He is an exceptional performer with his heel antics sufficing for his lack of physicality.

This year Mysterio has lost to Dragon Lee, Je’von Evans, Joe Hendry, and even Danhausen. Without taking anything away from these stars, they are clearly not on Dom’s level, and it seems WWE is punishing him for something, but not sure what. He has yet to win a match since June.

Along with all of this, Mysterio has defended his AAA Mega Title only twice this calendar year, and only once in AAA. It’s clear that either Dominik Mysterio has intense backstage heat in the company or they are not as high on him as they used to be.

Has Triple H Given Up On Dominik Mysterio?

Up until last year it was clear that Triple H was very high on Dominik Mysterio and wanted the star to succeed at all costs. But this year, it seems to be the quite opposite. Many fans have also noted that Mysterio’s body language on the shows have take quite the hit with his not looking particularly enthusiastic about being in the ring. The guy has been trapped in the same Liv Morgan and Judgment Day stuff for ages, and is clearly looking for an way out.

There has been very little done with him and Morgan lately, as they are rarely seen on screen together or in any angles. The group exists as nothing more than a blot on the creative team’s notepad.

It’s not unlike Triple H to pivot from superstars and angles after a few weeks as he seems to have done that a lot lately, but now, it seems more than ever, Mysterio needs a reset and a new character, but Hunter is unwilling to go down that route and possibly even does not view him as a top star anymore.
