John Cena Makes No Sense!!

It seems that John Cena has lost the plot and is desperate to write a few wrongs from his WWE career, especially when it comes to The Rock.

John Cena did not have the best of runs when it comes to his final year in WWE. His retirement run was marred by a silly heel turn that got him nowhere and ultimately ended abruptly with a face turn before SummerSlam that saw him lose the WWE title to Cody Rhodes.

Cena first turned heel at Elimination Chamber last year and sold his soul to The Rock when Cody Rhodes refused to turn to the dark side.

Heel Cena then tried to ‘ruin wrestling’ but ended up tarnishing his own legacy. Since then Cena has tried to pass on the blame onto several factors such as the heel turn being Paul Levesque’s idea and that he had a lot of different plans for his heel turn that he did not get to execute.

At the end of the day, it seems Cena is trying to stay as far away from that heel run as possible and taking every measure under the sun to switch up the narrative.

John Cena says he never sold his soul to The Rock

In another statement that has really baffled fans, Cena said that he at no point sold his soul to The Rock. The star stated that he was only in the entire alliance with Rock to win a championship and was not in the business of selling his soul to The Final Boss like Cody Rhodes.

You can check out the video below:

What makes it worse is that at no point did Cena ever mention that the entire segment that went down at Elimination Chamber last year was about selling souls. Cena turned heel right after Rhodes refused to sell his soul, directly interpreting that it was John Cena who sold his soul instead of The American Nightmare.

Despite however much Cena may want to switch up the narrative, it’s quite apparent that the 17-time world champion has not been very good at it, making one baffling decision after another and confusing fans into believing that he was somehow coaxed into this entire scenario and it was not his conscious decision.

But the real question is WHY?

The main reason Cena tries so hard to turn this narrative around is because he deems his entire final run as a failure. The legend may not want to admit this, but he hates to think about his final run and imagine a time when fans simply despised whatever he was putting on. He wanted his retirement tour to be a fairytale tour where he would be loved and adored throughout arenas and showered with admiration. Instead, a big question mark has been left on that run, a question mark that he desperately wants to erase.

It’s not John Cena’s fault that he wants to switch up the legacy in a way that warrants a lot more love and admiration instead of the constant criticism. He is now conjuring up scenarios that don’t make any sense, and is trying to justify the unjustifiable.

And truth be told, it’s not a knock against him, it’s just how things have turned out, and any other man in his position would do the same.
