WWE SmackDown this week was another underwhelming show that was pretty run of the mill and had very little going for it.
The latest edition of WWE SmackDown kicked off well with the Steel Cage United States Title match between Trick Williams and Baron Corbin. The match went well and had some great spots with Trick retaining the title as expected. This feud is over (FINALLY!!) and now Trick can move on to bigger and far better things.
The same cannot be said for the women’s United States Champion Jacy Jayne who has yet to receive a proper singles feud after winning the title. But more on the women later.
Cody Rhodes Is Bland AF!!
I’m sorry if you are a fan of Cody Rhodes, but I can’t take this man seriously anymore. It’s the same promos week after week in the same tone and the same repetitive stuff.
It’s just too bland and not just that, it’s also way too melodramatic to be going on for week after week. The Cody Rhodes-Randy Orton hasn’t picked up pace at all since their match at SNME and the stars are yet to face off against each other on SmackDown. It has been one backstage segment after another as both stars have decided to bore us to death.

The worst part about all this is that they aren’t even scheduled to face each other at Money in the Bank just yet. Just end this feud already, and please for the love of the world, TURN CODY RHODES HEEL.
The Women’s Division Needs Help
The women’s division needs help. At this point, it’s begging for help. When the top two champions of your brand are engaged in a six-woman match with no feud for either of them, it just comes with a huge HELP sign tattooed on the forehead.
Chelsea Green has nothing to do, Jacy Jayne has nothing to do, the women’s tag titles haven’t been defended in forever, and Giulia and Blake Monroe are yet to have that impending match.

Overall this division, and WWE RAW isn’t any better either, is barely scraping by. Surely there are better spots for these women on a two hour show.
WWE SmackDown Was Boring!!
Truth be told, WWE SmackDown has been the better show in WWE’s catalogue over the last few weeks with an encapsulating main event scene, a fun mid-card, and the likes. But when the show drags, it really, REALLY drags, to the extent that in one week it goes from must-see to filler.
For anybody who has yet to watch this show, you can skip this week’s edition and you’ll have saved two hours of your lives.
For those who had to sit through this, my condolences. But overall, this was a disaster apart from the opening match and the main event. The women’s Triple Threat match was good too.
