Oba Femi Does Not Want This Reputation So Early In His WWE Career

Oba Femi is well and truly the future of WWE, but there’s another reputation he would want to avoid.

Oba Femi has the distinct reputation of having retired Brock Lesnar twice in his career. He also has the distinction of relinquishing a sure fire world title shot against either Roman Reigns or CM Punk to take on Lesnar in a third match. Femi’s booking has been good in most parts, but in some other parts, it has been kind of obvious and baffling.

However, one recent incident could give him the ‘hard to work with’ reputation and that’s something no WWE superstar wants.

The Bronson Reed Incident Could Give Oba Femi A Bad Reputation In WWE

At Sunday Night’s Main Event, Oba Femi was in action against Bron Breakker to decide who the real future of WWE was. It was a typical WWE-style 50-50 booked match that ended with Bronson Reed’s return and The Vision taking out The Ruler.

On RAW, the same thing happened again when Femi attacked The Vision but was take out. In a clip that went viral on the internet, Reed was seen putting his foot on Femi after the beatdown and the star broke character while laid out on the mat and swatted Reed’s feet away, baffling the later.

It seemed like the foot on the body spot was unplanned and Reed did that spontaneously, as The Vision often does with a lot of their victims. But then, Femi did not like it at all, and lashed out, giving everyone enough talking points.

Even if the spot was not planned and improvised by Reed on the spot, the latter is a senior member of the WWE roster and it did not make sense for Femi to lash out at him like that on live television and break character as a result. It may not be much, but these sorts of incidents give wrestlers the ‘hard to work with’ tag, something every young wrestler wants to avoid so early in their careers as it could lead to locker room and creative purgatory.

Britt Baker suffered from this for a while in AEW before her return at All In.

Femi is smart enough to know that these incidents will make him a marked man, and that he’s talented enough to be the future of the company. He retired Brock Lesnar of all people, and his legacy is very much still unwritten, and may not want to tarnish it after all this hard work.
