PWT AEW Dynamite Rundown: STOP SPAMMING FINISHERS; Darby Allin Bleeds Buckets; Insane Crowd [10/06]

Welcome to Pro Wrestling Takes’ rundown of AEW Dynamite in France, a show that had a lot of everything.

The latest edition of the Dynamite emanated from Paris, France and went head to head with NXT. They just won’t stop, will they? Either way, the episode also comes on the heels off the tribute show for Pac and somewhere emotions were still running high.

The shows was mainly centered around the men and their with only Mercedes Mone getting a match against Queen Aminata.

Overall, it was a show that built very few stories, as usual, and resorted to the in-ring talents to pull off something.

STOP SPAMMING FINISHERS!!!

The Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada match was once again a race to get the most finishers in. Ospreay hit about 100 hidden blades, and Okada got in about 99 Rainmakers, only for the champion to valiantly bounce back and get in three Hidden Blades more for the win.

Why is it so necessary to spam finishers instead of doing others moves that may be destructive but not as much?

The match began with Okada immediately trying to hit the Rainmaker, a move that was established in a way that if you eat it, it was an one and done. Instead, Ospreay ate about 80 of them and still had enough energy to kick out at two.

This is not just an AEW thing anymore and it seems that the issue has been passed on to WWE, with most matches having at least a bunch of finishers being hit before people can win.

Cody Rhodes is hugely guilty of not protecting The Cross Rhodes and has to hit at least 30 of them every match to get the job done.

PLEASE, stop spamming your finishers. Protect them like Kenny Omega.

Another Day, Another Darby Allin Bloodbath

A match where Darby Allin doesn’t bleed is also a match that doesn’t exist. Allin once again bled more than Paris’ stock of Bordeaux and after all of this he still managed to pick up the win.

Allin was battling Kyle Fletcher in what turned out to be a great match for the TNT Title before Allin bladed himself. It was obvious that Allin caught the wrong vein and it started flowing. It was a nice tribute to Eddie Guerrero (if you know you know).

Some of the bumps were once again hard to watch. You’d have to take it for granted at this point that Darby does not want to wrestling a day above 35 with the kind of punishment his body is taking.

The injury to Steven Borden means his singles run is well and truly under way, and it’s time to move him to a proper feud.

The AEW Dynamite Crowd Was Top Exceptional

Don’t you just love the European crowds? They can make a regular episode of Dynamite or RAW feel like a PPV.

What an amazing crowd Paris was. High octane, electric stuff, with chants, songs, and absolute chaos. At no point did it feel like it was a just a regular episode of AEW Dynamite, or just plain weekly tv.

Jon Moxley got cheered out of the building and Samoa Joe was revered for his ‘nope’ spot. But that’s not all. Will Ospreay felt like Hulk Hogan in his prime with the adulation he was getting, and even simple spots were getting massive cheers.

It was so nice to see, and a lesson to be learned for the American audience who take such shows lightly and for granted. This is what a great crowd looks like and that is what matters.

Half the fun of pro wrestling is in how the audience reacts to certain spots and matches, and boy did they lose their minds.
