Triple H’s growing aversion towards telling stories has become a huge problem in WWE.
Remember the CM Punk and Drew McIntyre feud that lasted three matches and gave us one of the best Hell in A Cell bouts of all time?? That was peak storytelling from Triple H that we all loved and enjoyed.
But now, it seems The Game has forgotten to do all that and simply resorts to matches conjured out of nowhere or shock factor.

Triple H Has Stopped Telling Stories In WWE
In a world where stories should be the main driving force in pro wrestling, we have lost all essence of how to tell good ones.
Sure there will be the occasional story that we love, the personal feud like Kevin Owens and CM Punk was great, Cody Rhodes finishing his story was exceptional.
But all of that seems to have vanished.
Despite so much history between Randy Orton and Rhodes, their story has been marred with either celebrity interventions, or just brawls that eventually lead to nothing.
Cody Rhodes is slowly but steadily turning heel. But the slow burn build has been more annoying than his constant babyface antics and jargon. The trigger should have been pulled months ago, and not left for now when all the charm is practically gone.
Take the 946 story for example on RAW. They ran over Jacob Fatu with a car but there was no extension to the story and it was never explained what happened to Fatu.
Solo Sikoa randomly showed up on RAW after Roman Reigns said, “I’ll handle this” and brought back the star.

He randomly agreed to team up with The Usos, with all of their past tensions and animosities never being explained.
What happened after he got kidnapped??
How did he return??
Nothing was ever explained.
Moreover, we still don’t know why Jaida Parker joined the group, and why this group is there in the first place.
They cut cryptic backstage promos without ever explaining why Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price are together.
Beyond all this, there’s the Intercontinental Title picture.
Chad Gable with his luchador fetish loves to randomly hand out matches to one star after another, but still has no constructive storyline on the brand.
He has no feuds that fans can dig into, and it’s basically one match after another. Rey Mysterio goes around teaming up with Dragon Lee and gets attacked by Big Cass.
Again, random attacks, and very fickle stories involved.
Both the men’s tag titles and the women’s tag titles have become jokes. They are never defended and haven’t been seen on a PLE throughout this year.
The United States Title went from Trick Williams to Baron Corbin and vice versa in a hot potato feud that nobody could make any sense of.
Yes, the main event scene on SmackDown is stacked. Everyone and anyone wants to get their hands on the title.
The women’s division’s best story is perhaps Stephanie Vaquer vs Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan.
It has been done well and really has the fans hyped for their Triple Threat match at MITB.
But the same can’t be said for Chelsea Green. WWE are slowly building to a heel turn from Tiffany Stratton but in the meantime things just seem very out of place.
The Judgment Day has a great backstory and history that could be exploited to finally end the group. But it seems, Triple H has no interest in doing that.
It’s just a faction that wins one week and loses another, and then ends up going back to the same promos and backstage segments.
Before long, WWE is going to become the very thing they hated most – a pro wrestling promotion with only wrestling and no storytelling.
