WWE Just Crowned A World Champion Better Than Roman Reigns And CM Punk

WWE has crowned yet another world champion and this one is better is than both Roman Reigns and CM Punk.

Ever since the rise of Daniel Bryan around WrestleMania 30, where the star rose against all odds in an authentic and legitimate rise to the top to win the World Heavyweight Title. From that fateful night 12 and a half years ago to this day in 2026 WWE has searched and failed to create the next Daniel Bryan.

Many have tried and failed to develop that sincere connection with fans, create that underdog story, and ultimately reach the mountain top overcoming all the adversaries and obstacles. Today, World Wrestling Entertainment stands at the cusp of having another Daniel Bryan, another star who has the fans at the palm of his hands, a star who is a legitimately authentic babyface.

That star is Ludwig Kaiser or El Grande Americano.

El Grande Americano Wins The AAA Mega Title At TripleMania

El Grande Americano has once again proved why he remains to be the top babyface in WWE despite his last appearance on any main roster programme being months ago. Americano is the star of the people – kids adore men, men respect him, and women fantasize about him.

He is the guy who puts every other babyface all over RAW, SmackDown, and NXT to shame and he doesn’t even need to try at this point. At TripleMania 34, Americano overcame Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Omos, and JD McDonagh to have his crowning moment, and won the AAA Mega Championship.

This was a moment The Undertaker had built toward for months and one that was carefully crafted by the timing of all the matches and feuds that he had. It was the right moment to end Mysterio’s 367-day title run and change the landscape of AAA.

For a moment, when Liv Morgan came out, fans thought AAA will not be pulling the trigger on El Grande, but it seems that there were other plans, and Rey Mysterio had to come out in a neck brace and a ref shirt to get the job done and crown a new AAA Mega Champion.

Now, WWE has an authentic babyface who is perhaps better than Roman Reigns and CM Punk.

El Grande Americano Is A Better World Champion Than Roman Reigns And CM Punk In WWE

For starters El Grande Americano isn’t a tweener character lying in a grey area between being a face and a heel. He is a proper babyface, who does all babyface stuff and is great at what he does. As a matter of fact, Americano is so great that he has legitimately gotten all of Mexico in a the palm of his hands.

Ever since the mask vs mask feud with Chad Gable it seems that there is no stopping the star. The hardest thing in wrestling is to be babyface, because at the end of the day, it’s very difficult to sustain fans’ love and care for you. But it seems El Grande could spit on the grave of some Mexican’s father and he would still get kissed.

It’s insane, and a breath of fresh air. This moves away from the silly tweener dynamics that wrestling has come to embrace over the past few years – the stuff that really grinds your gears about Roman Reigns and CM Punk is non-existent with El Grande.

The debate is constantly on about Roman Reigns and CM Punk and whether they are faces or not. The stars act as faces at one point and instantly become heels the next. They are constantly sitting on a pendulum that goes from heel to face and vice versa without giving fans the chance to settle for either and really invest in the characters.

A babyface champion is a babyface like WrestleMania 30 Daniel Bryan or a WrestleMania 40 Cody Rhodes. They are champions who you love and get behind, and really really want to see win at all costs. A heel is the exact opposite of that. You hated Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, because he was just that, an as*hole with a sense of grandeur and a megalomaniac who gaslit those around him to keep himself in power and control. You hated the man and rightfully so.

Right now, there’s no clear babyface world champion in WWE who is white and pure and someone who just melts your hurt every time you see them. Sami Zayn is a heel, and Roman Reigns’ is as confusing and complicated as space itself. CM Punk’s character for when he was champ a few days ago was similarly convoluted and bizarre with nobody quite sure about whether he was a face or a heel.

The women’s side of things has two complete babyfaces as the top champions in Stephanie Vaquer and Chelsea Green. But let’s face it, Triple H’s booking of the women’s division is about as trustworthy as your ex’s promises.

So yeah, as far as the male in the company go, the only one to really get behind and support is El Grande Americano, a man of the people and a hero of the masses, who took a stupid gimmick, ran with it, and is now sitting on the top of the world.
