WWE Should Be Very Worried After What John Cena Said About Gunther
Share:

John Cena recently blasted WWE over the booking of Gunther and Triple H should actually be worried.

Gunther was for long viewed as the biggest rising heel in the business, second to only MJF perhaps. The Ring General not only had one of the fiercest Intercontinental Title reigns of all time, but also broke every record under the sun.

He also had the unique distinction of retiring not one, not two, but three legends of the industry. The man who held one of the most sensational records of modern wrestling – Goldberg, the man who has won the most world titles in WWE history – John Cena, and the man who was perhaps one of the greatest wrestlers of all time – AJ Styles.

Yet, Gunther is now feuding with Danhausen. So naturally, John Cena isn’t very happy about it. And during a recent interview with Busted Open, he openly said that WWE wasn’t booking Gunther the way he would like.

“I know there’s sentiment out there that like, ‘Man, they’re wasting Gunther’ Maybe currently they are. But I don’t see the view from the penthouse. I’m not in those meetings where they’re just looking at the whiteboard, connecting the dots. Maybe they’re just cooling him off. Maybe they’re putting him away from TV. I don’t know. What I am gonna do is I’m not gonna challenge the opinion of, ‘Aye, I’m not gonna give this for this guy and you’re gonna forget him.’ This is the work that I need to do for today, and we’re gonna make him look the best we can, and I’m gonna give him as much steam as I can, and what you do with it afterwards, that ain’t my call.”

WWE Should Be Worried After What John Cena Said About Gunther

Cena is the ultimate PR machine, so he’s obviously not going to be at an all out war with WWE, but the man has at least acknowledged that Gunther has been fumbled.

I mean, he is feuding with Danhausen backstage on WWE SmackDown. He went missing for weeks before returning, he had one of worst built feuds at WrestleMania, and he’s not even in Money in the Bank.

Of course, he has not been booked well. The Career Killer’s career is falling apart. And it’s not a secret anymore. If one of the biggest stars in the industry can see it, then rest assured others can too.

Cena had to acknowledge that the guy he tapped out for one December 13, is the guy who is having comedy segments with Danhausen.

Too many of WWE’s biggest stars and champions are being fumbled, and too many off then are very underwhelming when it comes to their presentation. I talked about Seth Rollins being misused as well, and this pattern is now too common.

So yeah, Cena breaking his PR mould to talk about Gunther and slyly telling Triple H to do better, is a worrying sign and WWE needs to pull up their socks.
