It’s safe to say that Cody Rhodes is WWE’s biggest babyface, but there may be someone who is way better.
Since returning to WWE in 2022 Cody Rhodes hasn’t had much to think about when it comes to fan reception. He has been exceptionally good as the likeable babyface. His Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins with a torn pec and the ‘we want Cody’ movement before WrestleMania 40 really got him over the edge.
He has rightfully been dubbed QB1 and has been a major influence backstage. Not just that he has been by far the company’s biggest babyface by a mile. He was the one to dethrone John Cena and has had some of the most important feuds of the year.
But if you watched WWE SmackDown, you’d know that he’s slowly turning heel. Cody Rhodes is slowly going to that place where he will probably snap in due course and make life hell for his opponents.
And when that time comes, WWE already has the perfect replacement.
El Grande Americano Is Cody Rhodes’ WWE Replacement
It’s easy to point to any wrestler and say that he or she may be the next big this or that. We have all been there where X or Y is the next Brock Lesnar or the next Undertaker and so on. But there rarely has been someone who has been so proven and so over that it’s incredible to think they wouldn’t make it big in the main event scene.
El Grande Americano got the weirdest gimmick under the sun. He got it passed onto him when Chad Gamble got injured. El Grande Americano then ran with it, became incredibly popular in AAA, and has become a sort of national hero in Mexico.
You know how much people love him just by the videos on Twitter. Now, he is the Mega Champion in AAA, and this only means one thing.
WWE will have to encash on this popularity and bank on it, bringing him to either RAW or SmackDown and make him the next big babyface in the company.
It just makes way too much sense, and would have a legitimately over star at the top of the company. Americano has the body, the height and the looks to become a mega top star and it’s only a matter of time before he starts getting those opportunities.
Cody Rhodes is a legitimate top star, although the storylines involving him haven’t been that good, but then, his replacement would have to be equally charismatic and flamboyant to pull this off.
El Grande has proved that he is up to task and is the next big superstar WWE desperately wants.
