Triple H has fumbled a lot of WWE stars over the years, but now things seem to be getting out of hand and the CCO has no clue what he is doing.
When The Game took over as the Chief Creative Officer within WWE, many regarded it as the dawn of a new era with many talents getting the chance to shine and the company finally going in a different direction from what fans were used to seeing under Vince McMahon.
For the first years or so, that was exactly the case. Fans got great storylines with The Bloodline, Cody Rhodes finishing his story, the return of CM Punk, and so much more. But lately, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse.
Triple H Has Fumbled One WWE Star After Another
At one point it seemed fans and The Game were aligned on who they liked and didn’t. The Chief Content Officer had no such fascination for stars who were only six foot five and above 250 pounds but gave the smaller, more athletic, yet technically astute wrestlers a chance. Under Triple H’s reign in NXT we got to see traditionally ‘smaller’ stars like Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, Adam Cole, and so many more shine like they never have, creating a fresh wrestling product that fans were genuinely behind.
Now it seems Hunter has forgotten how to go down that route, how to book affectionate babyfaces, write dastardly heels, and create compelling storylines. Over the last year and a half or so fans have constantly complained about the lack of main event stars, fresh stories, and how bland the WWE product feels overall.
Just as one or the other shining light comes into the product it’s immediately turned off either with bad booking or just completely fumbling the star’s calibre.
Bron Breakker was allegedly not given a main roster push because he didn’t want to shove him down fans’ throats, while having Sami Zayn and Jey Uso shoved down our throats. He has berated the fans in order to defend his own booking, as SmackDown sank to the lowest of lows, so much so they were having it hard to sell 5000 tickets for that show.

The New Day turned heel only for them to be paired with Grayson Waller and do absolutely nothing for months before they decided to just leave the company. Sheamus has now left the company. Kairi Sane was let go in the middle of an active feud with Asuka, while Ilja Dragunov has now decided to leave the company after months of being on the sidelines.
Triple H has had no idea what to do with Giulia and Ricky Saints since they were moved up to the main roster while we have already established how much he hates Carmelo Hayes.
It’s incredible to think that there has been so much talent at disposal for The Game and yet he has failed to make most of these things work. Most of the champions are above 40 in the company right now. Legitimate talents like The Creed Brothers have had nothing to do for months while they bring back Baron Corbin and Big Cass. The promotion seems to be running on thoughts and prayers at this point in time more than strategy and creativity.
But Is It All Triple H’s Fault?
Well the short and long answer to that is yes and no.
Triple H has the final word on a lot of what goes down in the creative room and is also directly responsible for how things are booked and shows are paced. That being said, he also does not have a say, or minimal say in how much TKO gets involved in the storylines and wants to insert their own two cents. TKO is obsessed with involving celebrities, case in point, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton part one, Travis Scott, and so on and so forth.
The company is also obsessed with milking as much money as possible from WWE leading to mindboggling ticket prices and more ads than matches on shows. They also have weird metrics and analytics to judge whether a star is worth the booking time or TV time or not and how much clicks and engagement they generate.
There’s very little Triple H can do in that matter as he is only serving his masters and has to create that sense of satisfaction for them at different levels. TKO wanted to overexpose Danhausen and so he was and now fans hate him.
But beyond this, some of the booking has also been terrible at best. Dominik Mysterio getting lost in the shuffle, Liv Morgan not defending her title for months, the Women’s United States Title, and the tag team division in general has to be put on Triple H.
While TKO does butt in with the occasional demand here and there the day to day running of the creative of this company is primarily left on Triple H’s shoulders. With so little happening and so much shenanigans, the metrics will be implemented on Hunter as well at some point.
Fumbling so much talent, so much so, that they would rather seek greener pastures than be with the company, pushing them but not giving the adequate opportunities, pivoting on storylines after weeks of builds, will eventually lead to the downfall for The Game, and he will have to realise that sooner rather than later when business fades and the numbers turn against him, the TKO boardroom will not waste one second in pointing the fingers at him and show him the door out of WWE.
